Privacy Policy
How we treat what you entrust to us. Last revised July 22, 2026.
Who we are
Fay is run under the name Fuchiba. Fuchiba is not a registered company; it is a trading name used by one individual who builds and operates this service, and "we" throughout this policy means that person. Fay is software that helps small organizations such as choirs, community centers, little theaters, historical societies and garden clubs keep track of the people who show up for them. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what say you have over it. If anything here is unclear, write to us at [email protected].
What we collect
When your organization signs up for Fay, we collect account information: the name and email address of the people on your team, and billing details, which are handled entirely by our payment processor so that card numbers never touch our servers.
We also collect the information your organization chooses to store about its own audience, because that's what Fay is for. That includes names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, household groupings, event attendance, ticket orders imported from CSV files, donations, thank-you and receipt history, and notes your team writes about conversations.
Finally, we collect a small amount of technical information needed to run the app securely, such as sign-in timestamps and the IP addresses used to detect suspicious activity.
How we use your information
We use this information to operate Fay: to let you sign in, to store and organize your audience data, to generate reports, to send receipts, and to keep your account backed up. We use billing contact information to process payments and send invoices.
We never use your audience's data for advertising, and we never sell it, to anyone, for any reason.
Our legal basis for processing
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with your organization, your organization's legitimate interest in managing relationships with its own audience, and, for the limited technical data tied to your account, our legitimate interest in keeping Fay secure and reliable.
For most of what's stored in Fay, your organization is the data controller, deciding what to collect and why, and Fay is the data processor, acting on your instructions.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your data or your audience's data to anyone. We share information only with the small number of service providers who help us run Fay: a hosting provider that stores our servers and databases in the United States, a payment processor that handles billing, and an email delivery service that sends receipts and notifications on your behalf.
Each of these providers is bound by contract to protect your information and to use it only to provide their service to us. We may also share information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena.
How long we keep your data
Your audience's data belongs to your organization, not to us. You can export everything as a CSV file at any time, for as long as your account is open.
If you close your account, we keep your data for a 30-day grace period in case you change your mind. After that, we begin permanently deleting it, and deletion is complete within 90 days of account closure.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems. Because Fuchiba is one person, exactly one human being can reach the production database, and no system is perfectly secure. We will tell you promptly if something goes wrong with your data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, or object to certain uses.
Because most of the audience data in Fay belongs to your organization rather than to us, requests about that data are usually best directed to the organization that manages it, and we help our customers respond to those requests. For anything related to your own account or billing information, write to [email protected] and we'll help.
If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to ask us to delete it. We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.
Children's privacy
Fay isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information about children. If you believe a child's information has ended up in Fay, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Fay grows. If we make a material change, we'll let you know by email or with a notice inside the app before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.

Questions about this policy or your data? Write to us at [email protected] and it will be read by the individual who runs Fuchiba. This policy does not nominate a court or a country to settle a dispute, and it takes nothing away from the rights you already have under the data protection law that applies where you live.
